Wall Ties are small pieces of metal that are present in cavity walls.
They are linked to both walls, and are vital to the structural integrity of the dwelling. Wall ties in older houses were made with metal which can corrode over time, and as corrosion advances, the structural risks increase.
At worst, corroded wall-ties could cause outside walls to collapse, or gable ends to be pulled away in high winds.
